Extreme rainfall leaves cities floundering

Agartala, Ahmedabad, Bengaluru and Chandigarh are among the cities that received heavy, sharp rainfall over a few hours that left streets flooded and cars floating. The images reminded of the serious flooding in Chennai during November-December 2015. Research is now proving that such extreme rain events are becoming more frequent.
